SMRT Sequencing generates extraordinarily long reads–averaging 15 kb-20kb on the PacBio Systems–for the most accurate, complete, and high-resolution view of a genome or transcriptome. These long reads improve the quality of assemblies and boost the accuracy of isoform studies by eliminating the need to reconstruct transcripts from shorter reads.
